Reconnect Through Love was a celebration of creativity, culture & love at the Omaka Gallery, that showcased the multi-layered and diverse nature of Black love through the perspectives of an incredible roster of internationally acclaimed artists. The exhibition featured well established artists such as Alexis Peskine, who’s piece Kassu Demdemi (the fire now) explores the desire for retaliation, peace and serenity that was ignited during the 2020 Black Lives Matter movement and Vincent Dolman who’s Holding Hands project beautifully captures the expression of platonic love and friendship between men in India, celebrating their closeness and affection even though rigid rules around masculinity apply. We also had the pleasure of featuring work from FilmAbdi & Lea Braimoh who are two rising stars in the UK art scene. You can find the full list of artists below.

Alongside the art we had DJ Satra-Sia creating the vibes, food, drinks, activities to help you to connect with new people and games. It was a truly authentic and Henjoyable experience. Make sure you don’t miss the next one.
